About BrianWeb

About the Site

BrianWeb.org is our dedication to our friend who passed before his time. Brian Steinke passed away from complications do to a condition called Marfan's Syndrome. But his story doesn't end there.

BrianWeb is a social network centered around Brian's friends and family. It is designed to keep us in touch with the many acquaintances made through Brian's friendship.

BrianWeb is also a dedication to Brian's life and his stories. Join us and share your stories of good times and bad with Brian. Together we can build an amazing tribute to a friend that truely touched everyone that ever knew him.

Development

Brian Web has been in development for over 6 months. It was developed by friends wanting a last place to store all the good memories we had for a beloved friend.

The idea started with the concept of six degrees of separation. Brian was an extremely social person and had a network of well over 500 friends. In addition to being simply a dedication site to Brian, the development team decided to build a small social network around his already massive network of friends.

Future plans include opening certain portions of the site up to the general public to engage in a social experiment. Using this site we plan to test the theory of six degrees of separation. Public users will be able to sign up or link their facebook accounts to our network. Once they do the algorythms will attempt to find the shortest friends link to Brian. The goal will of course be to keep everyone as few links away from Brian as possible. If everyone ends up being less than six links away from Brian, then we have proved the concept of six degrees of separation.

This website is intended to grow and evolve as users participate. Users are encouraged to make suggestions to make the site better. The development team will work to add these requests as they come in.
